Hyperion Research Predicts HPC-enabled AI Growth

Hyperion Research presented its annual ISC breakfast HPC market update in Hamburg where it shared a forecast that worldwide HPC-enabled AI server revenue will grow by 22.7% (CAGR) over the next 5 years.

Hyperion CEO Earl Joseph predicts that 2023 will be the year of AI regulation: “We expect to see serious AI regulations primarily in Europe and the U.S.," he said. Joseph also shared the prediction that AI will become more pervasive in production tier deployments due to users' higher confidence in its abilities and ease of use.

HPC cloud revenue is expected to exceed $11 billion by 2026, Hyperion anticipates, with AI and other data-intensive applications driving this growth as the predominant workload in the cloud.

“ChatGPT put a spotlight on the world of what AI can do. We’re talking to a large number of users, buyers and providers with different ideas of how AI could see use,” said Joseph.
