PLUMgrid to Integrate ONS with SUSE Linux Enterprise

PLUMgrid has joined the SUSE PartnerNetProgram to integrate PLUMgrid Open Networking Suite with SUSE Linux Enterprise.  The move kicks off engineering certification work to add SUSE Cloud as the latest OpenStack distro to be supported by PLUMgrid ONS.

SUSE Cloud joins the major distros that are supported by PLUMgrid including Red Hat, Mirantis, Oracle, Piston and Canonical. Enterprises are embracing distros as the strategy of choice for deploying OpenStack private clouds. The array of popular OpenStack distros supported by PLUMgrid ONS assures that PLUMgrid can deliver the virtualized networking functions (VNFs) customers need, on the OpenStack distro they want.

“PLUMgrid certification of ONS v2 on SUSE Cloud gives enterprise customers who want the most complete distribution of OpenStack a new choice in software-only networking that simplifies deployment and supports containers. SUSE is excited to partner with key members of the OpenStack ecosystem, like PLUMgrid, who expand the enterprise capabilities of SUSE Cloud and speed the delivery of cloud services," said Pete Chadwick, senior product manager, Cloud, for SUSE.

“The OpenStack revolution is causing customers to demand modern and software defined networking solutions to address the complexities caused by new cloud architectures. PLUMgrid is happy to be partnering with SUSE to deliver secure and scalable cloud networks to customers worldwide,” said Kash Iftikhar, vice president of sales and business development, PLUMgrid.
