Boston Launches New Range of Media Workstations

Boston IT Solutions (India) Private Limited is delighted to unveil two exciting new additions to their Venom range of high performance workstations at the 23rd Broadcast India show in Mumbai: the Boston Venom 2400-0T and the Boston 1800-0T. For more information and a demonstration visit Boston on stand A-103.

The Boston Venom 2400-0T utilises Supermicro Hyper-Speed technology to deliver superior performance over the competition, while still maintaining enterprise-class reliability. Based on Intel Xeon E5-2600 V2 series processors, Boston has enhanced the highest performing ‘Ivy Bridge’ processors (up to 150W TDP) to achieve stable application performance improvements of up to 30%. The processors are able to run at continuous maximum efficiency due to proprietary liquid cooling technology, with an in- integrated pump that provides rapid, highly efficient coolant circulation, heat exchange and an acoustically quiet computing experience.

The Venom 2400-0T is uniquely optimised for Silicon Philosophies’ innovative CINEMA CRAFT HD applications (CC-HDe & CC-3De 2.0); chosen by leading video post-production facilities, film studios (e.g. SONY DADC, Deluxe Digital, Imagion, MSM, Cinehollywood, Paramount, Warner, MGM, Pixar), broadcasters (e.g. FOX, HBO, Turner) and digital content professionals for their speed and unique quality H.264 and MVC Stereoscopic encoding results. Silicon Philosophies’ recent deployment harnesses Venom’s 2400-0T architecture to guarantee the most efficient, high-performance media encoding platform.

Boston is also presenting the Boston Venom 1800-0T at this year’s Broadcast India show. Combining an ultra-compact chassis design with a specification designed for high performance, the Boston Venom 1800-0T delivers enough computing power to cope with the most demanding of applications. At just 222mm wide, 190mm high, and 351mm deep, the Boston Venom 1800-0T impressively condenses a 4th Generation Intel Core i7 CPU, NVIDIA Quadro K4000 GPU card, 16GB of RAM, 2TB HDD, and 240GB SSD, ensuring ultrafast performance that allows professionals across different M&E disciplines realise their most ambitious visions. Cooling in such a compact system is a significant challenge, but the chassis design, combined with a large 180mm fan, ensures that operating temperatures are kept low, removing any concerns about energy efficiency and reliability.
