NEC Announces Availability of Altair Workload Management Software for HPC on SX-Aurora TSUBASA
TOKYO, March 3, 2021 -- NEC Corporation today announced the availability of Altair PBS Professional workload management software for high-performance computing on the NEC SX-Aurora TSUBASA platform.
"PBS Professional" is software for workload management and job scheduling developed by Altair, a global technology company that provides solutions in the areas of simulation, high-performance computing (HPC), and artificial intelligence (AI) and one of the top providers in the industry. It has been installed by customers at 2,000 sites globally.
The addition of "PBS Professional" as NEC's new software for job scheduling will simplify access for customers who have already installed this software to implement "SX-Aurora TSUBASA."
SX-Aurora TSUBASA is the latest vector supercomputer provided by NEC. NEC has provided "NEC Network Queuing System V (NQSV)", in-house developed as a job scheduling software for "SX-Aurora TSUBASA", to meet the requests of customers using NEC Systems. We plan to continue strengthening it in the future.

On the other hand, customers who have already installed supercomputer systems such as PC cluster systems, often have installed PBS Professional" as their job scheduling software. For ease of use, there is a growing need to easily add NEC vector supercomputers to their environment.
This integration is in response to the requests of these customers.
