Entrust Datacard Partners with Flexential, Sirius for Cloud Payment Card Issuance Security Solution
CHARLOTTE, N.C. and DENVER, July 5, 2019 – Flexential, a leading provider of data center colocation and hybrid IT solutions, today announced a partnership with Entrust Datacard that creates a PCI-CP (Card Production) - certified colocation facility, to issue and activate credit/debit cards for financial institutions around the world through a cloud-based solution.

Flexential and Entrust Datacard teamed up with Sirius Computer Solutions, Inc. (Sirius), who designed, supplied, and implemented the infrastructure into two of Flexential’s most secure, connected and high-speed data centers. These data centers were required to be in different parts of the country, one for production, and one for disaster recovery, to meet the strictest PCI specifications.
“The requirements we face for issuing and real-time activation of financial cards are among the strictest security standards in the world,” said Chris Pelletier, senior vice president and general manager of Financial Instant Issuance (FII) at Entrust Datacard. “Flexential and Sirius partnered to make our PCI-CP certified data center a reality in a secure fashion and in record time, to enable us to provide a variety of solutions for our customers.”
Some of the unique requirements include background and credit checks for all data center employees working on this project, a separate person trap in each data center, a dedicated security booth behind bullet-resistant glass, steel mesh reinforced walls, floors and ceilings, and the ability to maintain a constant temperature on the floor of the data centers.
