ALISO VIEJO, Calif., Sept. 9 -- Today, QLogic, HP and Brocade released HP Smart SAN for 3PAR StoreServ, a standards based solution with express provisioning technology, that allows storage administrators to orchestrate end-to-end deployment from servers to storage in as little as one minute. Leveraging the embedded intelligence of QLogic Gen 5 (16Gb) Fibre Channel SAN components and Brocade Gen 5 switches, HP Smart SAN simplifies tasks associated with connecting and managing HP 3PAR StoreServ arrays in a SAN environment. HP Smart SAN integrates effortlessly with HP 3PAR StoreServ Management Console (SSMC) to streamline and automate tasks associated with configuring, troubleshooting and testing end-to-end diagnostics in the SAN environment, all from one management console.

• Simplifies Management Complexity – HP Smart SAN's seamless integration with HP StoreServ Console simplifies tasks associated with SAN configuration, troubleshooting and end-to-end diagnostics testing, ensuring storage administrators at all experience levels can easily and effectively zone fabrics, map servers and execute SAN diagnostics from one management console.

In field tests, system engineers reported that the HP Smart SAN setup and deployment took up to 99 percent less time than other solutions.
• Future Roadmap and Intelligent Industry Standards – Making intelligent use of industry-standard Fibre Channel FDMI commands, HP Smart SAN simplifies and consolidates SAN management and lays the roadmap for improved future integration with other management platforms.
