IDT Interconnects Utilized by Prodrive Technology

Integrated Device Technology, Inc. today announced that its 20 Gbps RapidIO interconnect devices are used in Prodrive Technology’s motherboards based on the RapidIO Trade Association’s (RTA’s) data center standard specification that was released in the fourth-quarter of 2013. IDT’s RapidIO switch products offer 100 ns latency, energy efficiency, and multi-processor scalability – providing breakthrough performance in data center and supercomputing analytics applications.

IDT’s 20 Gbps per port RapidIO switches and bridges serve as the on-board and inter-board interconnect for Data Center Compute and Networking (DCCN) motherboards developed by Prodrive. The RTA-compliant motherboards come in a 19-inch form factor with up to four computing daughtercards, supporting a variety of processing nodes from x86, to ARM, DSP, FPGA and PowerPC. Using the DCCN motherboard, OEMs, data center operators, supercomputing centers, and financial trading organizations can develop high-throughput, low-latency computing systems ideal for high performance analytics applications. The DCCN platform will be submitted by the RTA to industry organizations such as the Open Compute Project (OCP) in the first half of 2014.

“The RapidIO Trade Association embarked on creating infrastructure to bring the benefits of embedded systems computing to data center applications six months ago,” said Jag Bolaria, Senior Analyst at the Linley Group. “In the data center and supercomputing industry, we see demand for high-performance analytics involving real-time, latency-sensitive computations. IDT and Prodrive have delivered a platform that makes it easy for users in these markets to build entire systems with RapidIO, and benefit from a variety of processing options, including x86, ARM, DSP, FPGA and PowerPC.”
