RAID Inc. Releases Ability 2U 24-Bay JBOF

LAWRENCE, Mass., Feb. 7, 2023 -- RAID Incorporated, a leader in designing and implementing customized high-performance storage solutions for HPC, big data, cloud, and software-defined data centers, today announced the release of its Ability 2U 24-Bay JBOF product. The system is capable of providing up to 1.2 GB/s sequential read/write and handling up to 15TB SSD capacity per slot (up to 360TB total per 2U rack space).

With subzero millisecond latency and delivery of up to 740,000 IOPS, the release of the Ability 2U 24-Bay JBOF signifies RAID Inc.’s expansion of its portfolio to include purpose-built flash-based storage products as a solution for application bottlenecks.

“Increasing application performance is always at the forefront of our customers’ minds and expanding HPC capabilities into other market segments for tricky applications makes this product an important add for us,” stated Marc DiZoglio, General Manager of RAID, Inc. “The all-flash Ability JBOF is very competitively priced, offers better random performance, has more reliability than traditional spinning disks, and allows challenging applications to not be bound by a limited number of spindles.”

The Ability 2U 24-Bay JBOF can expand to up to 10 JBOF’s and connects via 12G SAS. There are a total of 6 SAS ports across dual I/O modules. The I/O modules, fans and power supplies are all hot swappable and redundant so that there is no single point of failure on the JBOF. The system is ideal for high performance applications, object, database, and metadata operations. The Ability 2U 24-Bay JBOF also offers FIPS-2 and TAA certified media options.
