GNS Systems Enters Into a Strategic Partnership With AWS

June 13, 2018 -- Starting in June, IT Service Provider GNS Systems, based in Braunschweig, is a strategic partner of Amazon Web Services (AWS). Effective immediately, both companies are collaborating in the field of High Performance Computing (HPC).

Combining HPC scenarios with cloud computing offers advantages in scalability and availability of required infrastructure resources. This now means the launch of Best Practices for HPC clusters in the cloud. HPC specialist GNS Systems is entering into a strategic partnership with Amazon Web Services to develop new scenarios towards applying and implementing High Performance Computing (HPC) in the cloud. "There has been a recent increase in demand for cloud-based HPC projects", explains Christopher Woll, Managing Director of GNS Systems. "Both AWS and GNS Systems are leading suppliers and service providers in this field. Together, we want to put something new on the map. In doing so, we are combining our strengths in this partnership and jointly developing innovative solutions for use of HPC in the AWS cloud." The impetus driving increased demand is the growing number of computer-based processes. Traditionally, designers and engineers, especially in industry, for example, have relied on HPC in the field of Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) to perform powerful number-crunching analyses and simulations. Until now, it was difficult to implement HPC in the cloud. New infrastructure technologies and methods are currently ushering in an era of fast-paced change.
