VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Aug. 14 -- GreenQloud, the world’s first Truly Green cloud software company powered by renewable energy, announced the launch of QloudSync, a new cloud storage syncing client at GROW, a conference that focuses on the future of innovation, growth and entrepreneurship by bringing together technology pioneers, influencers and investors who are passionate to finding solutions to solve the problems of today. GreenQloud is a proud sponsor of the GROW Conference and will be onsite for all conference activities.

QloudSync is the newest of GreenQloud’s Truly Green cloud computing services to run exclusively on renewable energy, enabling customers to safely and securely sync, store and share data such as photos, videos, e-books and documents without leaving a carbon footprint.

All files synced with QloudSync are automatically stored and updated on GreenQloud’s clean energy-powered StorageQloud, enabling users to readily access their synced files from any internet-enabled computing device, any time and anywhere with a familiar file and folder structure. Music, photos and videos can also be played or viewed directly from StorageQloud's™ web interface. QloudSync enables users to keep track of their cloud storage usage in real time as well as their total carbon savings, which can be significant.

GreenQloud built the cross platform open source QloudSync application using the C# programming language and the Mono framework on OSX and Linux and .NET on Windows. QloudSync is currently compatible with Mac OSX 10.6+ and Windows 7, with the Linux version being released in the coming weeks. Both iOS and Android mobile versions will be released in the fall. The source code for QloudSync is accessible on GitHub.

QloudSync’s backbone, StorageQloud and its web interface feature social media sharing capabilities, allowing GreenQloud customers to easily share any file or folder stored via QloudSync with family and friends, followers or colleagues. Users of QloudSync can password protect shared files as well as set expiration time limits on shared links. The web interface for StorageQloud™ also provides customers with fun metrics about the carbon emissions they’ve saved by storing their data on StorageQloud, which can then be shared on social media.

“In a crowded market place for data storage products, we believe our QloudSync offering stands apart for its simplicity, cost effectiveness and its commitment to sustainability,” says GreenQloud CEO, Bala Kamallakharan. "As the consumerization of the IT industry grows in the enterprise, so does the carbon footprint. GreenQloud's cost-conscious and environmentally aware customers have nearly unanimously requested a solution like QloudSync to solve the data storage problem that aligns with corporate social responsibility initiatives."

QloudSync, offered in conjunction with the two existing services by GreenQloud, ComputeQloud and StorageQloud, supports GreenQloud’s goals of designing an easier to use cloud while leading the IT industry to become more sustainable.
