Build an Adirondack Style Chair

<img style="float: left;" src="http://media2.hpcwire.com/dmr/chair2_small.jpg" alt="" width="95" height="81" />Software from Autodesk used in digital manufacturing helps DIY woodworker design, optimize and create the perfect chair for lounging on a summer day.

Summer is almost over, but it’s not too late to make that Adirondack style chair you’ve always wanted and catch a few of the season’s rays.

It’s also a good way to get familiar with some digital manufacturing software from Autodesk.  The creator of the chair, Luke Mihelcic, a product marketing manager at Autodesk, used Autodesk’s SketchBook Pro for iPad to rough out the design. He then turned to Autodesk ForceEffect to optimize the drawing and saved the modified diagram in Autodesk 360. The next step was to create a 3D design with Autodesk Inventor. And then on to the build.

You can view the entire process on the Instructables web site and watch the video posted below.

And maybe build a chair of your own to sit in with a cold microbrew and watch the world go by.
